Launch of First Entrepreneur Center – Barstow Area Center for Entrepreneurs Area Center for Entrepreneurs, 1041 West Main St., plans to open on January 27, 2017 helping to unlock economic and educational potential utilizing pedagogical strategies . . . which are powerful growth mindset contributors, to drive economic growth, education development and prosperity in a thriving community. Barstow area Entrepreneurs are integral to the stable and thriving local formal economy, but often face disproportionate barriers, including travel distances, states Paul A. Courtney, Entrepreneur and College Professor. is centrally located where students, parents, individuals and business operators will have access to essential resources: Public Computers, Notary, IT/Computer Training, WEB Design and Apply, Administrative/office support services, Education referrals, Tutoring, Financial Planning, Business Planning, Signature Training, OSHA training, Errands R Us, Transportation Services, Marketplace . . . and then some! Service offerings include: Scheduling, Billing, Collections, Employee Training, HR, and Safety Training to mention a few; all designed to facilitate and develop entrepreneurial and educational enhancement capacities “ The center will provide an entrepreneurial/educational ‘hub’ that will create a robust exchange of ideas and communication that will stimulate growth and benefits for the entire community.”

The Center seeks to augment the educational offerings of local schools and colleges, by coordinating and offering paid and non-paid internships in the educational development areas of, customer service, human resources, marketing, sales, employment acquisition, leadership, employment re-entry and business planning, etc. The center supports economic diversification and seeks to serve as a catalyst for innovation that will stimulate Barstow’s business growth, and when fully functioning, will be lead, managed and operated by subject matter experts and K-12 grade students and college students. will serve as an example of how private industry can cohesively work with education and community leaders to successfully promote entrepreneurial activity!. J. Adaberto Quijada, Director/SBA, U.S. Small Business Administration has agreed to incorporate SBA resources into the center, creating history (in Barstow) and the surrounding communities the Barstow Area Center for Entrepreneurs will serve.
